Bills Barmy Army Raises Two Thousand Pounds For East Lancashire Hospice

Thornton Sports took part in the Ribble Valley Pub Walk this weekend to raise funds for the East Lancashire Hospice. Walking in honour of Thornton Sports Director Bill Pomfret who sadly passed away earlier this year, ‘Bill’s Barmy Army’ walked 10 miles through the Ribble Valley visiting 10 pubs along the way.

The hospice, which provides specialist care, supportive care and end of life care for people and their families both at home and at the hospice throughout Blackburn, Darwen, Accrington and Clitheroe is undoubtedly a worthy recipient and they are thrilled with the amount of £2000 raised by ‘Bill’s Barmy Army’.

We are sure that Bill would have been very proud of our fund raising efforts, and raised a glass to our late Director who is thoroughly missed by all at Thornton Sports.
