Thornton Sports see Red!

Thornton Sports see Red!

On Friday 24th February, Altham based company Thornton Sports took part in National Wear Red Day, where people from across the UK all wear red to raise money for The British Heart Foundation.

Kathy Dignall, Assistant Manager for GTC Sports was the true lady in red, as The British Heart Foundation is a charity that has particularly helped her family. “In 2005 my father suffered from a heart attack. He underwent surgery and was given a quadruple heart bypass. He is now fit as a fiddle, which often puts me to shame! I believe that the research of the British Heart Foundation helped my father, and it will also help many others in similar situations.”

The ladies of the office were a force to be reckoned with in red, however, Matthew Binney, Sales Administrator for GTC Sports let the boys down slightly, with his poor contribution of red socks! Needless to say, he still contributed his £2.00 for charity, so all was forgiven!

Geminii Ellis, Marketing Assistant organised the event, “We’re always eager to raise money for charity at Thornton Sports, and the research of the British Heart Foundation has really helped Kathy’s family, so it seemed like a good fit for us.”

Thornton Sports raised a total of £42.00 for the British Heart Foundation, and also had a little fun along the way too!
